課程概述 |
以時間旅行為題材的小說與電影隨處可見，但時間旅行本身是否可能，會產生什麼問題，以及時間旅行究竟是什麼，則是哲學要討論的議題。
本課程聚焦討論時間旅行哲學文獻的兩個脈絡：第一，時間旅行與時間哲學理論的相容性;第二，時間旅行在不同理論中所產生的問題及其解決方法。
There are many movies and novels using time travel as their themes. But, what exactly is time travel? This is a question philosophers want to ask. Is Time-Travel possible? Even if it is possible, does it lead to any problem?
This course will focus on two issues in the philosophy of time travel. The first issue is about whether time travel is compatible with different metaphysical theories of time. The second issue is about various problems associated with the idea of time travel.

The aim of this course is to equip students with the ability to
1. defend a particular theory of time travel
2. analyze and examine the main philosophical papers in this topic
3. compare different philosophical theories about time travel
4. develop their own pictures in philosophy of time.
